The pin diagrams in the Haynes manual should not be read literally. ie: Pin 1 on the diagram may not be Pin 1 on the Ignition Module.

Note* This wire changes to Black/Yellow at pin 15 on the Sierra Ignition Switch, this wire also runs to the Anti run-on valve on the Weber Carburettor.

Note** This wire changes to a Black/Blue at pin 50 on the Sierra Ignition Switch

Pin 30 on the Ignition Switch is +ve supply colour Red

Distributor Wiring

If you follow the PWS instructions you will have removed the complete Ford Sierra Distributor/Coil loom and splicing this in is easy. If however you are starting from scratch note that the two Distributor wires on the BASIC inductive system are Pin 1 Violet, splices to Green/Yellow, and Pin 15 Orange, splices to Black/Red.

The Ford plug is a very fancy affair. Does it have a function? Note also a screening can may fitted and an earth to a push on tag.

Sierra Coil Wiring

Ford Coils are marked Pin 1 -ve, Pin 15 +ve and Pin 4 High Tension Output to Distributor

As a matter of interest my car was wired exactly as the above and it runs OK.
